Gulbarga University, Kalaburagi established during September 1980 with a vision ‘Excellence in Higher Education, Empowerment through Knowledge, Inclusive Growth for Socio-Economic Change and Sustainable Development’ has carved a niche for itself in the world of learning. In its course of meaningful existence and steady growth, it has now 37 PG Departments, two Post Graduate Centers at Raichur and Bidar and a Sharana Sahitya Library and Resource Center at Basavakalyan offering PG, MPhil, PhD programs, a few PG Diploma Courses and under graduate course in Physical Education on main campus. Over 307 affiliated colleges of the university offer UG and PG programs. The main campus of the University is located on a sprawling campus of 860 acres, PG Center Raichur campus of 250 acres at Yeragara on Mantralayam Road, PG Center Bidar campus is located on 310 acres near Halahalli village, the state highway from Bidar to Kalaburagi and Sharana Sahitya Library and Resource Centre at Basavakalyan..
